Ecological criticism was a critical wave which rose in Britain and America in the 90's. Through checking the relationship between civilization and nature with literary texts, it not only aimed at saving nature--the basis for man's survival, but also saving humanity through nature so as to solve the problem of man's alination. Its ultimate concern was to reconstruct a new spitual and material home with the integration of man and nature in good harmony.
